Critical and Long-Term Patient Care

The Need Is Great

Two tremendous needs within Paradise Bound are our Critical/Long Term Patient (C/LTP) Program and connecting you with our patients and their needs through our Patient Sponsorship Program.

We encounter hundreds of patients every year who have medical needs beyond that which we can attend to with our Mobile Medical Clinics or our limited permanent clinic. Examples of patients include, but are not limited to:

  • Heart
  • Cerebral
  • Cancer
  • Orthopedic
  • Spinal
  • Ophthalmic
  • Cleft palate
  • Club foot
  • Fertility

…and the list continues into the vastness of medical conditions unable to be diagnosed, treated or healed in the field. Most patients discovered in remote villages have absolutely no means financially to travel outside their village and seek medical help. Even if they did, where would they go? The National Hospitals in Guatemala are often considered a “place of death,” not of healing.

Be Part of a Solution

Allow yourself to imagine growing up in a tiny remote village, having never left that place, and then trying to navigate your way through a busy city you’ve never been in to find a hospital and then even know what to do once you are there. It is just too overwhelming and thus many precious people have no choice but to remain in their village, often dying without reason from illnesses that are very preventable or treatable.

The Paradise Bound C/LTP program, along with you, can bridge the gap between what is too often life and death. When we discover patients such as those described, our nursing staff follows up with, plans exams in larger private hospitals, transportation, food, and lodging for the patient, accompanying them through the process of treatments, operations and healing. It’s all done in the name of Jesus Christ, and often the relationships built can be eternal.

More About Our Patients

Connecting you in prayer and financial support for our critical and long term care patients is as crucial, as our C/LTP program is no small use of our very limited resources. Bear with us as we add more information about current patients to this section. Be sure to check back soon to find out more, or Contact Us directly. We look forward to hearing from you.
