JQ99 Trip - March 16-23, 2009
Village/Clinic Days

Two days of each trip is devoted to village ministry through remote mobile medical clinics. These days will begin with working at the mission house preparing medicine and food to be given to the families in the villages. On each day we will travel to a separate village, generally 2-3 hours from the mission base. We will leave for the villages early afternoon. Upon arrival we will set up and start the medical clinic. 6-8 group members will be needed in the clinic, the rest of the group will interact with the children in the village, building relationships for later. No experience is needed to help in the clinics. This is the time when you will use the candy, balloons, footballs, etc to play with the children. For more ideas on what to bring for this time see the trip details or involving church family. Once it is dark we will begin the Jesus film. After the Jesus film our native Pastor will share a gospel message and give an opportuty to accept Jesus Christ as their prsonal Savior. After the invitation, we will pray with each one accepting Christ, give them a Bible or New Testiment (usually their very first)! After this, each family of the village will be given a bag of beans/rice/soap and other available items, about a 3 day supply of food. The group will return to the base, sometimes very late.

7:00-8:00am Breakfast, and personal devotions

8:00am–Noon These activities vary greatly, but include sorting/preparing medicine, toys, soap, beans, rice, and bibles for that evening’s ministry.

Noon-1:30pm Lunch is eaten at our base. Team Devotions

1:30-3:30pm Team travels to the remote village for that evening’s ministry. This can take up to 3 hours, and yet we may only travel 25 miles from our base ... the roads can be an adventure themselves!

3:30-10pm Village ministry, teams set up, hold clinics, distribute food, show films, our native pastor gives a message and an invitation to accept Christ. Those coming forward are prayed for, presented a Bible and encouraged in their new eternal life!

10pm-12am Village ministry teams return to base and needed showers.

*** In our desire to follow the Holy Spirit, this schedule is kept very flexible. Some days may be similar to this; others can be quite different.
