Why Go with PBM?
Dear Friend:We recognize and embrace the incredible potential of each team and each team member God ordains to send our way. Your time with us will not be wasted. We know what needs to be accomplished and how God, through you, can accomplish it in the hearts and souls of His precious ones in Guatemala! You and your team are as much a missionary and a part of Paradise Bound as we the founders are! We need you to accomplish the calling of our Lord Jesus Christ!
As missionaries, through our Lord Jesus Christ, we can reach hundreds of lives each year. However, with short term mission teams we literally reach tens of thousands. This potential, when directed through prayer and the work of the Holy Spirit, results in hundreds, sometimes thousands of souls each year being won for Christ first hand by our teams through home building and mobile medical clinics.
We know that your prayers, a week of your time in Guatemala, and your financial resources are precious. But of this much we are sure: Your investment in eternity will change lives, here on this earth and everlastingly. Most every one of our teams has the blessing of being used personally by our Lord to bring a harvest of souls unto Himself.
Your missionaries and His servants,
Dan, Heidi, Malachi, Ben, Haven and Elijah Smith
There are many opportunities to participate in mission trips around the world today; how is one to choose—where, which one, with whom? Our Lord is clear in His living Word when He says:
“You will know them by their fruits.” —Matt 7:16-20
“Abide in Me as I abide in you...I am the vine and you are the branches. Those who abide in Me and I in them bear much fruit.” —John 15:4-5
“By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” —John 15:8
One of the very defining characteristics of a true mission trip is whether God is using that particular organization and its teams to win souls unto Himself, not just changing lives here on this earth, but for eternity!
Humanitarian Aid or the Gospel?
Bearing fruit is just that: It is not simply humanitarian aid with a “Christian” tag attached. Christ was most incredible at humanitarian aid, but our example and the essence of our Christian walk also bore fruit and in His name admonishes us to bear much fruit. That means not only serving someone’s physical needs, but ministering to them specifically in their spiritual need of eternal life through Him. Wherever you choose to serve in this world of opportunities, consider if you or your team will be bearing much fruit for the Master!
Start to Finish?
Often organizations handling large projects use serve teams to complete only a portion of the work at hand. However, most participants never witness the completion of that project. Our Lord has blessed us with a home design that allows a team, even without construction experience, to start and finish multiple homes for the oppressed during three days of construction. Ultimately, that is sharing the Gospel with the family with whom you have built a close relationship. And that is tangible on this earth and everlastingly.
Who Are We?
We are not only the founders of Paradise Bound, but are still fully hands on with every mission team and will be with you every step of this spiritual journey our Lord has created for you. That includes everyting, from being the ones picking you up at the airport, to building homes, conducting medical clinics, sharing team devotions, and presenting the Gospel. We even live in an apartment within the same facility where you’ll be staying! We count it a privilege to get to know you personally. After all we will spend eternity together.
Be sure to choose a mission or organization where many previous team members cannot wait to return and continue the ministry our Lord began within their hearts. There are hundreds of individuals and churches that return repeatedly to Paradise Bound and the work He is doing in and through them.
Will I Be Forever Changed?
Because you will be personally interacting, building relationships and ultimately be used by God to change someone else’s life—likely for Eternity—your life cannot help but be forever changed! Our calling at Paradise Bound is 100% to the Guatemalans and 100% to the team members serving alongside us.
Our Lord has called us to the poorest and most difficult to reach villages in Guatemala. We have several extreme duty 4x4 passenger vans especially equipped to safely carry us where no other mission groups go, reaching villages most do not even know exist. Others call us extreme, we are simply following our Lord wherever He goes.
We purposely handle everything for your mission experience: from booking your airline tickets to ground transportation, materials onsite and ready to go, and so on. Why? So that you can do what you are called to do as a leader, pastor or youth pastor: build relationships—yours with your team members and yours with our Lord; He is waiting.
Just a number?
We only invite one team at a time to minister alongside us. You are not among hundreds or lost in a crowd. Instead, you are able to build deep relationships within the team, our staff and with those whom you are called to minister among.
The relationships built in eight days are beyond explanation in text or on a web site, as they are often Eternal.
All that being said...
"I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow." —1 Corinthians 3:5-6
We recognize that we are absolutely nothing and give all the glory and honor to our Almighty God for allowing us the privilege of being a part of His kingdom through salvation in His son Jesus Christ, and as a small part of Him fulfilling His great commission on this earth.
By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
